The operator of Eigakan Guide handles information received through this website (the “Site”) and its ChatGPT integration in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Information we collect
The Site collects the following information:
- Usage information such as visited URLs, referrers, access times, approximate location, browser and device information, and reservation-button clicks. This may include cookies and similar identifiers.
- The email address and message entered in the contact form.
- The email address used to create an account, saved search conditions, selected cinema memberships, and cookies used to maintain the login session and selected display language.
- Text entered into AI search, search filters and recent search messages. Browser, account and IP-address matching identifiers and usage counts used to enforce limits and prevent abuse.
2. How we use information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Site.
- To understand aggregated usage and acquisition channels and improve the Site's content and usability.
- To respond to enquiries and provide necessary communications.
- To detect and prevent abuse, spam, and technical problems.
3. Third-party services
OpenAI API (AI search on this Site)
AI search sends your entered text, current search filters, display language and up to three previous search messages to OpenAI to interpret your search conditions. Movie and location candidates and screening-feature information needed to resolve your search are also sent. We do not include your account ID, email address, IP address or usage-limit cookie as separate fields. Personal information included in your text will also be transmitted, so please avoid entering information that is unnecessary for your search.
We enable sharing of AI search inputs and outputs with OpenAI. Shared content may be used to improve OpenAI's services and train its models. This sharing is separate from the API response-storage setting, which we disable. OpenAI may also retain inputs and outputs in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days by default. Longer retention may be required by law or necessary for safety. See OpenAI's API data controls documentation for details.
Google Analytics
The Site uses Google Analytics 4 to measure page views, acquisition sources, reservation-button clicks, and similar activity. While you are signed in, we send your account's identifier to Google to link return visits and activity across devices. We do not send your name or email address. A reservation click includes identifiers for the movie, cinema, and showtime, but does not include information entered in the contact form. Google processes information using cookies and similar technologies.

Google reCAPTCHA
The Site uses Google reCAPTCHA to protect the contact form and account registration and login from spam and abuse. Information processed by reCAPTCHA is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Resend / iCloud Mail
Contact enquiries and login verification codes are transmitted using Resend, and contact enquiries are received and stored in iCloud Mail. These providers process the email address and transmitted content as necessary to provide their services.
Amazon Web Services
The service is hosted on Amazon Web Services. Technical logs are recorded to operate the service, investigate errors, and address misuse. Lambda logs have a configured retention period of seven days.
CloudFront access logs record connection information such as the connecting IP address, access time, request destination, HTTP status, and User-Agent. These logs are configured to become eligible for deletion after 30 days. Requests made through ChatGPT may contain connection information belonging to OpenAI or another intermediary rather than the end user. Displaying posters also generates requests to our image-delivery service.
OpenFreeMap
Maps use OpenFreeMap and load MapLibre's rendering worker from UNPKG. These services receive requests along with connection information such as your IP address. OpenFreeMap also receives requests for map data covering the visible area.
Sentry
The Site uses Sentry to detect and investigate software errors. When an error occurs, Sentry may process the page URL, device and browser information, network information, recent interactions, and technical error details. Information entered in the contact form is not intentionally sent to Sentry.
The ChatGPT integration also uses Sentry to investigate unexpected errors. Error details and technical information about search processing may be sent to Sentry. These records are used to investigate and fix faults. Sentry error events are retained for 30 days under our current plan.
4. ChatGPT integration
The ChatGPT integration receives search conditions such as movie titles, areas, cinemas, dates, times, screening features, and display language. These are the arguments sent by ChatGPT when it calls a tool. The integration does not have access to your entire conversation history and does not link to an Eigakan Guide account.
Search conditions are used to retrieve and display results. The integration does not maintain an account-linked search history. If personal information is included in search arguments or error details, it could appear in diagnostic records. Please do not include personal information that is unnecessary for a cinema search.
The ChatGPT integration’s application logs record request identifiers, HTTP status, tool names, display language, result counts, pagination, success or failure, and processing duration to measure usage and investigate faults. Search text and other search conditions are not routinely written to these logs. Links to the Site include attribution parameters so Google Analytics can identify visits from the integration.
The search widget inside ChatGPT does not include Google Analytics or reCAPTCHA. OpenAI’s privacy policy and other applicable policies govern how ChatGPT itself handles information. You can disable Eigakan Guide in ChatGPT if you do not want to use the integration.
Opening a result link on Eigakan Guide subjects that visit to the website practices described in this policy, including website analytics. Once you open a cinema’s official website, that cinema’s privacy policy applies to its handling of information.
5. Sharing and international processing
We do not sell visitor information. Information is sent to the service providers identified above only as necessary to provide their services or where required by law. Those providers may process information outside the visitor's country of residence.
6. Retention
Account information, saved searches, and cinema membership settings are retained until the account is deleted. Saved searches can also be deleted individually. Contact information is retained for as long as necessary to respond and maintain related records, then deleted appropriately. Analytics information is retained according to our Google Analytics configuration and Google's policies. Cookies expire at the end of their configured lifetime or when removed through the visitor's browser.
AI-search conversation history is stored in tab-scoped browser storage (sessionStorage) and cleared when the page is reloaded. The latest search text is also included in the results-page URL and may therefore appear in the analytics and technical logs described above. Usage counters store matching identifiers, time windows and counts. Expired counters are removed by daily cleanup performed when searches are accepted.
7. Cookies and visitor choices
Visitors can delete or reject cookies through their browser settings. Rejecting cookies may limit analytics and prevent preferences such as the selected display language from being saved.
Anonymous AI-search usage is counted using a signed cookie (eigakan-search) that expires after 30 days. Signed-in searches use an account identifier instead. IP addresses are also used to enforce abuse limits. Browser, account and IP-address matching keys are transformed using HMAC; their original values are not stored in the usage counters. IP matching keys change each day in Japan time. This cookie and these counters are not used for advertising or analytics.
8. Requests about your information
When a visitor asks to access, correct, or delete information we hold about them, we will verify their identity and respond in accordance with applicable law.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the Site or applicable law. We will provide clear notice on the Site when a change is significant.
